Following the conclusion of the 1st Round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, top NHL Insider Frank Seravalli has shared some surprising news about his future.
Just last night, the Winnipeg Jets put an exclamation point on the 1st Round to end the last remaining opening round series in double overtime, coming back in dramatic fashion to beat the St. Louis Blues in 7 games.
Less than 24 hours after Adam Lowry iced the game for the Jets, punching their ticket to the 2nd Round, there is some more big news to announce.
While not directly tied to anything that occurs on the ice, the news involves one of the NHL’s top Insiders — Daily Faceoff’s Frank Seravalli.
According to Seravalli himself, his time with Daily Faceoff is about to come to an end. Seravalli revealed on Monday that it was his decision to leave, and also declared his status as a top free agent reporter come July 1st.
Seravalli has made a name for himself in the industry as someone who has many quality sources who are able to provide him with quality information at all the right times, allowing him to break some of the most exciting news across the hockey sphere.
Not only is Seravalli one of the most trusted names in hockey, he was the one who infamously leaked every name selected by the Seattle Kraken before the Seattle Expansion Draft in 2021.
While some were frustrated by Seravalli leaking the information from this draft ahead of time, it did prove that he’s still one of the top Insiders in the business and that his intel is good.
Seravalli had previously spent time with Canadian Sports Media giant TSN. It would not be surprising to see Sportsnet or even ESPN take a chance on the veteran reporter.
