SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Irish hockey team enters a new era in 2025-26, ushering in Brock Sheahan as Catalino Family Head Hockey Coach, and the fifth head coach in program history, with a full slate of non-conference games, as announced Friday.

Notre Dame unofficially opens the season with a trip to southeast Michigan as they will faceoff against the U.S. National Team Development Program in an exhibition contest Friday, October 3. The team then kicks off the official 2025-26 season with a trip to the desert for the annual IceBreaker Tournament, hosted by College Hockey Inc, the Hockey Commissioners Association, and Arizona State. The four-team tournament will take place at Mullett Arena in Tempe, Arizona, October 10-11.

The team opens the home schedule with a series against St. Lawrence October 16-17 before continuing the homestand the following weekend as they host Robert Morris for a pair of tilts (October 24-25).

The Irish will head east for the Thanksgiving holiday this season, visiting Merrimack (November 26) and Boston College (November 28) for a pair of games to close out the non-conference slate in the first half of the season.

Notre Dame rings in the new year with a home-and-home series with neighboring Western Michigan, January 2-3, with the Irish hosting the first of the two matchups.

The home-and-home trend continues at the end of the month as the Irish and the Falcons of Bowling Green trade off for a pair of games on their respective campuses, January 30-31, to close out the non-conference slate. The Irish will host game one of the series (Jan. 30) before traveling to Bowling Green, Ohio, for game two (Jan. 31).
