COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — Bittersweet moments unfolded at Nationwide Arena during tonight’s Blue Jackets victory against Chicago as fans celebrated the first birthday of Johnny Gaudreau Jr., the son of the late hockey star Johnny Gaudreau.
Meredith Gaudreau shared her sentiments earlier today on Instagram, writing, “Happy first birthday to our baby boy. We love you so much, Baby Johnny, already so strong and so special.”
The Blue Jackets defeated the Chicago Blackhawks 5-1 in the first game back from the 4 Nations Face-off. Next up, they take on the Dallas Stars Tuesday night at Nationwide Arena.
The Jackets currently have 62 points, tied with Detroit and Ottawa for a wild-card spot in the NHL Playoffs. Both the Senators and Red Wings have played one less game than the Jackets.
