LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — The Vegas Golden Knights have locked up another player with a long-term extension.
The team announced Friday that center Brett Howden has signed a five-year extension, carrying him through the 2029-30 season.
According to the team, the contract is worth an average annual value of $2.5 million.
Now in his fourth season with Vegas, Howden came to the Golden Knights from the New York Rangers via trade in 2021.

The 26-year-old forward has eight goals and one assist through 20 games so far this season. He’s only one goal shy of his single-season career high, set twice with New York.
Howden was a key contributor to the team’s Stanley Cup championship run in 2023, racking up 10 postseason points. He had four points in five games against Florida in the Stanley Cup Final, including two goals in Vegas’ Game 2 win.
He’s the latest Golden Knight to sign a long-term contract to remain in Southern Nevada. The front office has reached extensions with Noah Hanifin, Shea Theodore and Brayden McNabb in recent months.
