The Vancouver Canucks’ American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate have officially announced on Thursday that they have agreed to terms on contract extensions with three key members of the 2024-25 Calder Cup Championship team.

The Abbotsford Canucks 2024-25 season was one nothing similar to the Vancouver Canucks.

A historic season to remember, rookie head coach and former Vancouver Canucks forward Manny Malhotra took the AHL club all the way to win the 2024-25 Calder Cup.

With that said, they will try to repeat the same success with a very differnt looking roster as Vancouver made the controversial decision to trade top prospect goalie Arturs Silovs to the Pittsburgh Penguins.

“THEY’RE BACK ✍️

Abbotsford Canucks General Manager, Ryan Johnson, announced today the following extensions.

– Dino Kambeitz to a one-year contract extension through the 2025-26 AHL season
– Cooper Walker to a two-year contract extension through the 2026-27 AHL season
– Joe Arntsen to two-year contract extension through the 2026-27 AHL season” Abbotsford Canucks said.

Abbotsford did not stop there as they announced late on Thursday that they put pen to paper with forwards Ben Berard and Zach Okabe, as well as goaltender Jonathan Lemieux to one-year contract extensions through the 2025-26 AHL season.

EXTENDED ✍️

Abbotsford Canucks General Manager, Ryan Johnson, announced today that the club has signed forwards Ben Berard and Zach Okabe, as well as goaltender Jonathan Lemieux to one-year contract extensions through the 2025-26 AHL season.

With how poorly the big club performed last season by not making the Stanley Cup Playoffs, these recent signings could mean big things as Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin is always desperate for more young talent to break through the surface and make an impact in the NHL.
