Utah’s brand-new NHL team, the Utah Hockey Club, kicked off their week in Park City Monday.

The club held day one of their prospect development camp at the Park City Ice Arena. 32 prospects hit the ice during two sessions Monday featuring skating, offensive and goalkeeping work. The prospects will hit the ice again Tuesday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The NHL Utah Hockey Club held it’s first development camp practice Monday at the Park City Ice Rink.

The camp culminates in a scrimmage Friday at 1 p.m., at the Delta Center, which is free to attend.

The club also held a Monday afternoon press conference at Hotel Park City to announce the signing of defenseman Sean Durzi to a four-year contract. The 25 year old had nine goals and 32 assists last year for Arizona, both career highs. Durzi, Coach André Tourigny and General Manager Bill Armstrong talked at the press conference about the new contract, the defensive unit and all things Utah Hockey Club.

The 2024-25 NHL schedules will be released Tuesday. The club’s first home game however will be Oct. 8 against the Chicago Blackhawks. For more club information, see their website: www.nhl.com/utah/.
