We’ve learned an interesting bit of information, thanks to the partner of Montreal Canadiens defenseman Alexandre Carrier, Alicia Lessard.

One key takeaway was that Carrier’s trade to the Montreal Canadiens was a huge gift for them-especially since Alicia (his partner) was already working full-time in Montreal as a pediatrician.

While he was playing for the Predators, they didn’t get to see each other very often.

But it goes even further than that.

Alexandre Carrier’s Partner, Alicia Lessard, Reveals That Playing for the Canadiens Was on the Defenseman’s Bucket List

From this, we can understand that even if Carrier hadn’t been traded to the Canadiens last December, he likely would’ve signed with Montreal in 2027, the year his current contract ends and he becomes an unrestricted free agent.

Rumors even suggest that Carrier had already planned to sign with the Habs in 2027 as a UFA. Wow!

He really wanted to play here!

“What we also understand is that one way or another, Carrier would have ended up joining the Canadiens.”

We highly recommend the full episode.

We’re very happy with this acquisition-Carrier has truly helped stabilize Martin St-Louis’s defensive core.

And it’s great to know he’s just as happy to be playing for the Canadiens!
