The mother of a youth hockey player is accused of assaulting a 16-year-old referee during a game in Ohio Township. An officer with Robert Morris University Police was called to an altercation between Andrea Bucci and the teenage referee at the Island Sports Complex on July 20. The 16-year-old referee told police he had removed Bucci’s son from the game for unsportsmanlike conduct after blindsiding a player from the opposing team. According to the criminal complaint, Bucci grabbed the 16-year-old by the shirt and used profanities toward him. In addition, the teen said both Bucci and her husband lunged at him at the end of the game, in an attempt to intimidate him.The Bucci family is no longer permitted at the Island Sports Center, according to court documents.
