Rochester native and marine veteran honored at Red Wings game

Rochester, N.Y. – Our Bright Spot shines on a real-life lioness.

Earlier this month, the year-long celebration of the Marine Corps’ 250th anniversary made its way to Rochester.

Lance Corporal and Rochester-native, Amy Folwell, got to throw out the first pitch at a Rochester Red Wings Game.

Folwell’s service included a combat deployment to Iraq in 2007 as part of the groundbreaking Lioness program, which also inspired the recent TV series “Special Ops: Lioness.”
