A Manhattan Beach home owned by former Los Angeles Kings head coach Todd McLellan hit the market last week for $8.995 million.

The 6,312-square-foot house has six bedrooms, seven bathrooms and dedicated entertainment spaces, including a basement-level theater and a game room with a wet bar.

Records show McLellan and his wife, Debra, bought the newly built home in June 2019 for $6.772 million

The house is in the Hill Section, an affluent neighborhood of mostly newer homes on big lots.

Described in the listing as “coastal charm meets city chic,” the house has three light and airy levels. Natural light floods through four atrium skylights into the two-story foyer, anchored by a staircase. There’s also an elevator.

The entry level consists of the main living areas. Robin’s egg-blue tiled walls identify the open-plan kitchen, which has high-end appliances, a large island with a sink and seating, and a breakfast nook.

Elsewhere are the formal dining room and the great room, with pocketing doors to the backyard kitchen and dining area. There’s also room for a future pool.

The primary suite has a fireplace, a marble spa bathroom and a boutique-inspired walk-in closet. There is a balcony off the primary bedroom.

Bryn Stroyke of Bayside has the listing.

McLellan, 57, is a former professional ice hockey player turned coach. He was assistant coach of the Detroit Red Wings from 2005 to 2008, when the team won the Stanley Cup. He then served as head coach of the San Jose Sharks (2008 to 2015), Edmonton Oilers (2015 to 2018) and the LA Kings (2019 to 2024).

In February, the LA Kings fired McLellan because the team did not perform as expected.
