San Jose Sharks forward Macklin Celebrini is a borderline player to make Team Canada’s 2026 Winter Olympics roster.
The Sharks’ No. 1 capped off a great rookie season, finishing third in Calder Trophy voting, then playing in the 2025 IIHF World Championship.
This summer, Hockey Canada is holding a national team orientation camp for 92 players. Hockey Canada invited men’s, women’s, and para-sport athletes.

Celebrini will also continue to spend time with Sidney Crosby and Nathan MacKinnon, whom he recently trained with. The Sharks center will now get to be around even more NHL superstars, including Connor McDavid.
All nations competing in the 2026 Olympic Hockey tournament have announced their first six players on each roster. For Team Canada, their six skaters are: Sidney Crosby, Connor McDavid, Brayden Point, Nathan MacKinnon, Sam Reinhart, and Cale Makar.
Celebrini’s invite to this camp signals that he’s on Hockey Canada’s radar as a potential fit for its final roster.
