The Dallas Stars head up to Winnipeg on Wednesday night to take on the Jets in Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals.
The Dallas Stars battle the Winnipeg Jets in Game 1 of their best-of-seven series on Wednesday night. Both teams are coming off exciting Game 7 wins in the first round and both had to overcome two-goal third period deficits. The Stars trailed the Colorado Avalanche 2-0 in the third period, but got two goals by Mikko Rantanen in a six-minute stretch to tie the game. Wyatt Johnson would scored a little more than two minutes later to give the Stars the lead and then Rantanen would complete the hat trick with an empty-net goal at 19:57 in the third period. The Stars did just enough to slip by the Avalanche, but now get the Jets, who had the most points in the Western Conference in the regular season.

The Jets had a great regular season, but were pushed to the brink by the St. Louis Blues in the first round.
The Jets trailed the Blues by two goals late in the third, but got a goal from Vladislav Namestnikov at 18:04 in the third period to cut it to one. Cole Perfetti would tie it with just three seconds left to send the game to overtime.
Adam Lowry finally ended the game at 16:10 in the second overtime to help the Jets avoid the big upset.
The Jets will now look to defend their home ice against a Stars team that is looking to make it back to the Western Conference Finals.
