CALGARY, Alberta – The Utah Hockey Club ended its losing streak in the Scotiabank Saddledome against the Calgary Flames on Thursday night.

Coming off of five straight losses, Utah was desperate to get back in the win column. Although, it was going to be anything but easy facing a team with three wins in four games on their home ice.

With two goals from Lawson Crouse and late additions from Clayton Keller and Kevin Stenlund, the Hockey Club was able to pull out a win on the third of a four game road trip.

Utah will face off against the Stars in Dallas on Saturday before returning to Salt Lake to start a seven-game homestand against Florida.

Clayton Keller will return to the #UtahHC lineup tonight against the Flames.

During their current 5 game losing streak, #UtahHC has been outscored 21-10.

Previously, during their 4 game winning streak they outscored opponents 13-7.

Need to do better at keeping pucks out of their own net while capitalizing on more scoring chances.

LAWSON CROUSE HAS SCORED AND UTAH LEADS 1-0!!!!#UtahHC

Crouse’s goal against Calgary is his first since November 29 against the Oilers.#UtahHC

— Cole Bagley (@BagleyKSLsports) January 3, 2025

O’Brien’s aggressive forecheck made this possible and what a finish from Crouse on a gorgeous feed from Ian Cole.

Third line has needed a spark. Huge positive for them to see one go in.#UtahHC https://t.co/Ul1OklNaem

— Cole Bagley (@BagleyKSLsports) January 3, 2025

Liam O’Brien is doing what he does best.

Energy, physicality, and an aggressive forecheck.

Exactly what that third line has been in need of.

Utah back to full strength after a great PK.

Textbook structure, lots of clearances, and great work from Stenlund in the faceoff circle. https://t.co/VHxgia1HlL

— Cole Bagley (@BagleyKSLsports) January 3, 2025

Third line just looks different tonight.

More energy, suffocating pressure, and lots of quality chances. #UtahHC

— Cole Bagley (@BagleyKSLsports) January 3, 2025

Kadri to the box for an interference penalty against Cooley.

I really like the composure from Cooley to not retaliate there. Let the opposition sit in the box and go punish them on the ice for it.

Signs of some growth there for No. 92.

— Cole Bagley (@BagleyKSLsports) January 3, 2025

LOGAN COOLEY RESPONDS AND UTAH LEADS 2-1!

That’s the way to make the opposition pay when they take a cheap shot on you.

What a response from Cooley. Gorgeous pass from Guenther.

— Cole Bagley (@BagleyKSLsports) January 3, 2025

Elite play from Guenther here to make it look like he’s going to take a shot but delivers a perfect pass right on the tape of Cooley for an easy redirect.

Just like they drew it up. Those two are special. https://t.co/DCaIVgj8qW

According to https://t.co/koQ4Ef9Avi, it’ll be 4 on 4 hockey for the next 2 minutes.

Valimaki tripped Kevin Rooney but he retaliated with a slash.

Flames take the lead late in the 2nd period.

2P: 4:47 | 3-2 Calgary

— KSL Sports (@kslsports) January 3, 2025

Been a rough go for Utah tonight defensively and in terms of penalties.

Bad penalty allowed Calgary to score their first goal, and a poor turnover resulted in the Flames taking a 3-2 lead…

Another bad penalty has given the Flames another power play opportunity here late. https://t.co/L1TroztoYs

CAPTAIN KELLER HAS TIED THE GAME!!!

Welcome back Clayton.

3-3 early in the third.#UtahHC

Beautiful redirect and great response from the Captain to tie the game.

Elite players step up in key moments. https://t.co/eumWw60cMJ

LAWSON CROUSE HAS SCORED AGAIN AND UTAH LEADS 4-3!!!!

What a game for Crouse 🤠

— Cole Bagley (@BagleyKSLsports) January 3, 2025

His best game of the season.

Just a FILTHY top shelf goal from Crouse to get his second of the night.

Massive response from the Associate Captain tonight. https://t.co/8NlsIIA1Ni

— Cole Bagley (@BagleyKSLsports) January 3, 2025

Kerfoot was hooked on a breakaway which resulted in a penalty shot. Unfortunately, Kerfoot did not score on the penalty shot.

Score remains 4-3 in favor of Utah.

— Cole Bagley (@BagleyKSLsports) January 3, 2025

Keller to the box for 2 minutes for roughing.

3P: 9:09 | 4-3 Utah

— KSL Sports (@kslsports) January 3, 2025

Not a good time to take a penalty and I think Tourigny shaking his head on the bench says it all. https://t.co/MFnOxqK5cR

— Cole Bagley (@BagleyKSLsports) January 3, 2025

Flames pull their goalie.

Extra attacker on for Calgary.

Guenther nearly ended the game with a full ice open net goal but it went just wide.

1:40 to go.

— Cole Bagley (@BagleyKSLsports) January 3, 2025

KEVIN STENLUND BURIES ONE IN THE OPEN NET AND THAT SHOULD DO IT IN CALGARY.

5-3 Utah with 59 seconds remaining.#UtahHC
