MOORHEAD — Moorhead’s Wyatt Cullen will soon call the Twin Cities home after he announced his commitment to Minnesota on Monday morning via social media.
“I am proud and honored to announce my commitment to play Division 1 hockey at The University of Minnesota,” Cullen wrote on social media. “I would like to thank God, my family, teammates, coaches, and everyone else who has helped me get to this point.”

Cullen appeared in 55 games for the U.S. National Team Development Program U17 team. He notched six goals and 25 assists.
The left-shot forward helped the U.S. win the U17 Vierumäki Cup last December, where he had three assists in four games. The U17 went 14-36 in 57 games.
Cullen was named the Youth Hockey Hub’s 2024 Bantam of the Year. He notched 68 goals and 98 assists for the Moorhead Bantam AA team in 60 games in 2023-24.
He is the son of former NHL Stanley Cup winner and U.S. Hockey Hall of Famer Matt Cullen.
Cullen’s older brother, Brooks,

The Gophers finished the 2024-25 season 25-11-4 overall and 15-6-3 in the Big 10. Minnesota advanced to the NCAA tournament, but
5-4 in overtime at the regional in Fargo.
