It was also the second consecutive year he led the Kings in scoring, and by those statistics above, was one of the Kings’ most important players. After putting up good offensive numbers in the 82-game season, Kempe’s play carried over into the postseason, as he notched 10 points (4 G, 6 A) in six games. However, nine of those points came in the first three games as he recorded an assist in the second half of the series.
The Edmonton and Los Angeles series is full of star power.
And with seven points over the first two games, Adrian Kempe deserves to be in that star conversation as well.@TonyLuftman | @mike_p_johnson | @LAKings | #GoKingsGo | #StanleyCup https://t.co/QyuP14jS1l pic.twitter.com/Ly16zfDFZv

He also represented Sweden at the Four Nations tournament in February and posted one goal in three games.
2025-26 outlook
Kempe is heading into the final season of his four-year contract that was signed in the 2022 offseason. We all should expect him to be a staple on the top line like he has been for the previous three years; I would be surprised if he isn’t. Production won’t be a question mark for the soon to be 29-year-old winger, but can the Kings and him agree to a contract extension to keep him in LA will be heading into training camp if no deal is inked by then.
Kempe expressed his desire to stay in LA “as long as possible” in his exit interview, which I am sure is the case for both parties. If an extension isn’t agreed upon during the season, expect him to be an important player as he has been for the past four years. We could also see him representing Team Sweden in the Olympics.
Adrian Kempe shared this morning he wants to be in LA for “as long as possible”.
Extension eligible on July 1. Admitted he hasn’t thought about it a ton just yet but reiterated he loves it here and seems to want to stay.
