A HOCKEY star nearly met his terrifying end while shooting a promo video.

The Seattle Kraken and their Mascot, Buoy the sea troll, were in Anchorage, Alaska for a community partnership when they suddenly found themselves in danger.

The hockey team was out fly fishing at Brooks Falls for a partnership with the Bristol Bay Native Corporation before the incident occurred.

“Every year we try to do something special and unique to Alaska,” Kraken partnership marketing director Melissa O’Brochta told KOMO News.

“A couple years ago, we took Buoy on a little glacial helicopter ride, in the years past, we’ve done fishing in Anchorage.

“But this year, we were like, let’s do fly fishing over at Brooks Falls.

“Brooks Falls is iconic. If you’ve ever seen a picture of a bear catching a salmon in his mouth, it’s typically at Brooks Falls.”

O’Brochta was spot on about the bears’ presence at Brooks Falls, but they were hungry for more than salmon.

The Kraken were in Brooks Falls to film “experiential content,” with Buoy and forward John Hayden when they got a different experience than they were looking for.

While fishing in the river, a grizzly bear suddenly appeared from the woods and lurked into the water.

It slowly advanced towards the group before starting to run through the water.

The bear seemingly was drawn to Buoy’s furry look, but it was eventually scared off.

“I want to blame it on Buoy,” Hayden said.

“They were pretty interested in his whole look. We got out of it OK, but it was a close call.”

Everyone was fine, and Buoy’s X account made sure to let fans know he and the bear were safe.

“No trolls or bears were hurt in the making, always respect wildlife in their natural habitat,” it said.

Fans were baffled by the close call in the wilderness, and shared their thoughts in Bouy’s comments.

“If you see buoy and a bear in the wild, HELP THE BEAR!” one fan said.

“BUOY WAS STANDING ON BUSINESS HE WAS NOT INTIMIDATED BY THE BEAR,” another fan said.

“Yikes! Thankful you all are okay!” a third fan said.

“Man hockey mascot lore is crazy,” a fourth fan said.

“Close call Buoy! We’re glad the bear didn’t eat you,” a fifth fan said.
