The Detroit Red Wings are finishing their training camp out west — in West Michigan, that is.
The American Hockey League’s Grand Rapids Griffins, a Red Wings affiliate, announced that tickets for the annual Red and White Game are now on sale. The game will take place at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, home of the Griffins, on Sunday Sept. 21 at 3 p.m. ET.

The annual Red and White Game is an intrasquad game that includes Red Wings players and prospects from the AHL’s Griffins. This will be the fifth time the Red Wings have held their Red and White Game in Grand Rapids, but the first time since 2011.

The 2024 Red and White Game took place at Centre Ice Arena in Traverse City, where the Red Wings hold their preseason training camp.
Coach Todd McLellan, entering his first full year as Red Wings coach, has a big challenge in the upcoming season trying to lead Detroit to its first playoff appearance since the 2015-16 season. The team’s preseason slate begins two days after the Red and White Game, with a home matchup against the Chicago Blackhawks on Sept. 23 (7 p.m. ET) at Little Caesars Arena.
