The 24-year-old forward was signed by the Jets out of college where he played for the Providence Friars. He would total 94 points through 131 NCAA games and would continue his success with the Manitoba Moose.

His first full AHL season was an resounding arrival as he would record 18 goals and 23 assists for 41 points through 72 games. Ford would follow it up with 21 points through 41 points this past season and will look to contend for an NHL roster spot come training camp.

Ford made his NHL debut this past January and immediately made his mark against his favorite childhood team in the Boston Bruins with his first NHL goal in a dominant 6–2 win.
