2024-25 season

Former general manager Rob Blake didn’t swing for the fences when signing Warren Foegele to a three-year contract last offseason, but struck gold by the end of the season. Foegele, 29, was more than everything the Kings had hoped for. After spending three years on the other side of the Kings-Oilers rivalry, Foegele joined the Kings and posted career highs in a handful of offensive categories. Below are some of the career highs from Foegele last season, courtesy of MoneyPuck:

Goals: 24
Assists: 22
Points: 46
5v5 goals: 23
5v5 points: 41

In addition to his career highs and reaching a milestone of 100 career goals, his advanced statistics on Natural Stat Trick, such as CF% (53.7%), xGF% (56.5%), and GF% (61.8%), were also solid. An under-the-radar free agent signing turned into an A+ and was arguably one of the best. His speed, production in the middle six, and deployment on the penalty kill were invaluable, and Foegele even credited Jim Hiller for his success, citing his trust in him. In six playoff games against his old team, the Edmonton Oilers, Foegle recorded a goal and two assists.

Warren Foegele credited Jim Hiller for all the belief he’s shown in him, today & all season.

“I haven’t really had a coach that’s fully entrusted me, my whole time in league. A big reason for my individual success is from Jimmy giving me that confidence… good to get his trust”

2025-26 outlook

Foegele will return for his second season with the Kings, and if it’s anything like last year, his contract will continue to be gold for LA. Expect him to be a strong contributor at 5v5 and on the penalty kill again. If Hiller doesn’t load up on a line with Kevin Fiala, Quinton Byfield, and Adrian Kempe, I expect Foegele to be penciled in the middle six on a line with Byfield and Fiala.
