TORONTO. (Northern News Now) – In a series of social media posts, the Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) shared a new partnership with Barbie and Tim Hortons.
Barbie has proven to be anything she wants to be, including a professional hockey player, and she continues to empower youth to dream their biggest dreams.
Tim Hortons, the PWHL and Mattel, Inc. announced Friday the launch of new Barbie Tim Hortons PWHL Dolls, which will be available starting Aug. 11 at participating Tim Hortons restaurants across Canada and online.
The PWHL shared that $5 of every Barbie purchase would be donated to the Grindstone Award Foundation, which helps girls overcome financial barriers to play hockey.
And the PWHL will match this with a $5 donation for each doll bought through its online store.
The new pair of dolls are inspired by PWHL superstars Sarah Nurse and legendary Marie-Philip Poulin. The ladies were recognized as Barbie role models in 2020 for being trailblazers on the ice and breaking down barriers for women in hockey.
The dolls are $34.99 and can be purchased by clicking here.
The purchase includes a pink hockey uniform, stick, helmet, puck and skates.
