TROY, N.Y. (WRGB) — The Knickerbacker Ice Rink in Lansingburgh is set to become a bustling hub for young hockey enthusiasts, thanks to a new partnership with the New York Rangers.
Troy Mayor Carmella Mantello, Rensselaer County Executive Steve McLaughlin, and New York Rangers Alumni Brian Mullen announced the exciting expansion of youth hockey instructional opportunities at the recently renovated rink.
Mayor Mantello spearheaded the effort to bring the Rangers to Troy, recognizing the chance to provide world-class hockey instruction to the community.
The partnership aims to provide Troy residents, especially young athletes, have access to professional-level coaching and programming. The revitalization of the Knick is part of Mayor Mantello’s broader strategy to attract new partners, boost tourism, and generate economic development throughout the city.
