If you’re desperate for some hockey in your life, Sept. 21 will be the day for you.
The Colorado Avalanche last month released a preseason schedule that included two games on Sept. 21 against the Utah Mammoth, neither of which had start times or locations attached to them. On Tuesday, the team confirmed it will be a Denver doubleheader, with one at 2:30 p.m. at Magness Arena and the other at 6:30 p.m. at Ball Arena.
Rosters for both games won’t be known until the day of the games, but the NHL requires each team to have at least eight players with a minimum of 30 games of NHL experience the previous season or 100 career games dressed in each matchup.
Magness has not hosted an Avalanche event since the Burgundy/White intrasquad game in 2017. Presale tickets for the game will go on sale Aug. 13.
