As it turns out, former Red Wings player Tomas Nosek has style to go with all of his class.
After winning the Stanley Cup, the hard-working Florida Panthers role player thanked the Red Wings and the Grand Rapids Griffins for giving him his start. That’s the class.
The style came when he brought the Stanley Cup to his hometown of Pardubice, Czechia in a horse-drawn carriage. Nosek had the Cup on his lap with his wife and sons by his side. He delivered the Cup to the town square after eating a breakfast of eggs benedict out of the Cup.
He also took the Cup to the local ice rink to let young players see the Cup and dream, like he did when Milan Hejduk brought the Cup to the city 24 years before.
Nosek is the third Pardubice native to win the Cup, joining Dominek Hasek and Hejduk.

Sportsnet.ca created a summer NHL power rankings, based on a team’s readiness to play today after offseason moves. The Detroit team is ranked 21st in this 32-team league. “While you can certainly still talk yourself into some existing Wings players like Moritz Seider, Lucas Raymond and Simon Edvinsson moving the team forward,” Sportsnet’s Ryan Dixon wrote, “it just feels like Detroit needs an acquisition to give this thing a meaningful push.”
