Winnipeg Jets goaltender Eric Comrie has earned a sponsor’s exemption for the 2025 running of the Manitoba Open, set to be held at Breezy Bend Country Club from August 21-24.
The Manitoba Open is an official PGA Tour Americas Fortinent Cup event and will host Comrie as an amateur alongside the field of professionals in the four-day event. It will mark the tournament’s first running at Breezy Bend since 1993.

A number of Jets players have suited up in the tournament over the past few years, with the Manitoba Open offering a sponsor’s exemption to Mark Scheifele in 2018 and 2022, Kyle Connor in 2019, Morgan Barron in 2023 and Dylan Samberg in 2025.

Comrie, a product of Edmonton, has spent the bulk of his career in Winnipeg, split between the AHL’s Manitoba Moose and the Jets. He currently has a membership at the Shady Canyon Club in Irvine, California.
“I’m very excited to play in this year’s Manitoba Open. Golf has become such a passion of mine in recent years and the opportunity to play with professionals who are on the verge of becoming tomorrow’s stars is a special opportunity,” Comrie said.
“I’m really looking forward to the challenge of competing in such an important event to the community of Winnipeg and Manitoba. I’d also like to thank the tournament organizers and host committee, along with Breezy Bend, for the invitation.”
A 2013 draft pick, Comrie is entering his 10th season in the league and owns a 33-36-3 record over 77 games. He has four shutouts, a 2.39 goals against average and a .898 save percentage to his name. Comrie’s busy summer continues, after serving as the Jets’ spokesman at the 2025 NHL Draft and travelling to Michigan to surprise Connor Hellebuyck with the Hart and Vezina Trophies.
