The Vancouver Canucks’ top-ten prospects have been revealed heading into the 2025-26 NHL season, with a few new additions from their latest draft class.

While the Vancouver Canucks may not possess the deepest prospect pool in the National Hockey League, they still have a handful of guys that could become impact players in the years to come, most notably Tom Willander, who signed his entry-level contract with the club back in the spring, and Jonathan Lekkerimaki, who is hoping to make the team’s opening night roster in just his second full season in North America.Patrik Allvin’s scouting staff did an excellent job of identifying talent for them to select at the 2025 NHL Entry Draft in June, taking Braeden Cootes in the first round, along with five solid picks on Day 2, headlined by Memorial Cup champion goaltender Aleksei Medvedev of the OHL’s London Knights.

With a new season nearly upon us, an updated version of Vancouver’s top-ten prospects list has been revealed and it features a few new names that joined the organization through the aforementioned NHL Entry Draft.

Vancouver Canucks’ top-ten prospects list for 2025-26 season has been revealed

In an article on Daily Faceoff recently, prospects analyst Steven Ellis shared his updated top-ten list for the Vancouver Canucks, with defenseman Tom Willander taking being named the team’s top prospect.

“He’s a two-way, strong-skating blueliner who makes a lot of skilled plays with the puck. I feel like his overall control of the disk is much more refined than when he started in the NCAA, and he has really figured out how to handle his gap control on smaller North American ice.” Ellis said.

Coming in at second on Ellis’ list is Swedish forward Jonathan Lekkerimaki, who had a pretty strong rookie season in Abbotsford, finishing the year with 19 goals in 36 regular season games, along with seven points in 16 playoff games, helping the team to their first-ever Calder Cup championship.

Rounding out the top five are 2025 first round pick Braeden Cootes, 2025 second round pick Aleksei Medvedev and 21-year-old defenseman Kirill Kudryavtsev.Defenseman Sawyer Mynio, who represented Canada at the 2025 IIHF World Championship, comes in at sixth on Ellis’ list, with the 20-year-old gearing up for his first season of professional hockey in Abbotsford this fall.Victor Mancini (7th), Ty Mueller (8th), Kieren Dervin (9th) and Ty Young (10th) finish off Ellis’ list, the latter of whom will be pushing for a spot on Abbotsford’s roster this fall after an impressive first season of professional hockey with the ECHL’s Kalamazoo Wings.

It’s going to be interesting to keep an eye on these ten prospects, and others in the system, throughout the 2025-26 season to monitor their progress and see who can separate themselves from the others and prove that one day, they can potentially be a star player for the Vancouver Canucks.
