In the fifteen years that the Binghamton Senators have played here, it’s created a fan base for the Ottawa Senators, in addition to the countless New York Rangers fans in Broome County with some Sabers and Islanders fans.  Now that the Senators are packing up for Belleville, Ontario. the New Jersey Devils are bringing their AHL team to Binghamton.

Aside from, perhaps, the Original Six teams there aren’t many logos in the NHL as recognizable as the New Jersey Devils, especially in the northeast.  It’s that strong branding and marketing that has the current B-Sens front office staff excited for the changes to come.

“They’ve already got a great brand and a great image and it was very important to them and very important to us to continue on that branding and continue on that image that right here in our market and that’s going to be a focus of ours,” said Terry Buczkowski, B-Sens Vice President of Marketing and Communications.

“Their marketing people have been very up front with us and we have kind of opened the door and said ‘look it, don’t hesitate to jump in here. We’re interested in your ideas, we have some of our own, just don’t hesitate.’  It’s a partnership and it’s going to be a good one,” said Tom Mitchell, B-Sens Vice President of Operations.

The Binghamton Senators have 33 games left in their final season in Binghamton, 13 of them at home.  They host the Hershey Bears on Friday at 7:05 and the Albany Devils on Saturday at the same time.
