Maple Leafs goaltender Anthony Stolarz has a very different perspective of life as a Maple Leaf compared to Mitch Marner, who hated the pressure in Toronto.

Anthony Stolarz view on Toronto is Vastly Different than Mitch Marner’s

It didn’t come as a surprise to many, given that his interactions with the media were chock full of disinterest and disdain during his last season, often looking like he didn’t want to do be interviewed at all. While 9 years in Toronto will take its toll on almost anyone, Stolarz is entering his second season in Toronto and views life in “The Six” is vastly different than the former Leafs star.

“It was pretty fun. Obviously, you get there, and you kind of hear some stories about the media and the fans, but I thought it was a good year. It wasn’t too much for me, I’m a pretty easygoing guy, so I think that helps. The biggest thing for me being in Toronto was just walking around and seeing how passionate the fans are. They live and breathe Toronto Maple Leafs hockey, so it’s extra motivation for you as a player to go out there and deliver what they’re all craving.”

After what many called another disappointing end to the season, Stolarz and the Leafs are hoping the newest additions and added depth will help push the club deeper into the post-season while Stolarz will personally look to build on a stellar first season and land an extension in Toronto.
