The 2025 NHL Draft Lottery took place in Secaucus, New Jersey, on Monday night, and the Boston Bruins found out where they will draft in the first round of the NHL Entry Draft on June 27. The Bruins, the fifth-worst team in the NHL in 2024-25, will select seventh overall in the draft.

Boston had an 8.5 percent chance to pick first overall, but the best odds were on the sixth pick. The Bruins will now have the opportunity to draft another center with potential after taking center Dean Letourneau with the 25th pick in the 2024 NHL Draft.

The Bruins have not drafted in the top ten since Boston drafted defenseman Dougie Hamilton with the ninth selection in 2011. The last time in history that the Bruins owned the seventh pick was when the team chose Lars Jonsson in 2000.

Some draft prospects who could be available for Boston at six are centers Jake O’Brien, Caleb Desnoyers, and Roger McQueen. Boston also possesses two second-round picks acquired through trades. Their own second-rounder is owned by the Washington Capitals.
