The Maple Leafs have a lack of experience in goal behind Anthony Stolarz and Joseph Woll, but there is one free agent goaltender that could fill that role.Although the Maple Leafs have Anthony Stolarz and Joseph Woll in goal once again for the upcoming season, their depth at the position took a hit when they lost their veteran insurance policy in Matt Murray this summer.

Maple Leafs Could Turn to Undrafted Goaltender For Veteran Experience

The goaltending market is relatively thin, but former Colorado Avalanche goaltender Alexandar Georgiev is still looking for a new team after ending last season with the San Jose Sharks.

The 28-year-old hasn’t performed at his best the past couple of seasons — posting .897 and .875 save percentages, but with a solid defensive team in front of him like the one in Toronto, he could be a viable option to provide the Leafs with some starts if called upon. He could also give the Leafs a bit of an insurance policy in case Stolarz wants too much money on his next deal.
