One of the amazing things on the internet and in the hockey world, especially, is the overwhelming existence of trade rumors and the willingness to believe rumors from sources that have terrible track records or none at all, and there’s been plenty of rumors out of Boston this summer that don’t pass the smell test. Elsewhere in the Daily, Team Canada signaled their criteria for choosing players, and it’s not finesse they want, and we rated the Pittsburgh Penguins’ concerns for this coming season.
Don’t worry–our tech people are on the PHN email issue. It looks like most of you are not receiving them. It took us years to build up the Hockey Now network and add those features; it will take a few weeks to iron out the move to a more streamlined website (that is already paying dividends).

And a little streaming recommendation: Twisted Metal on Peacock. I didn’t even know about the first season, so I started S1 before S2 came out last week, and I’ve had so much fun watching it. Season 2 is a who’s who of character actors, from Stephanie Beatriz (nine nine!) to Mike Mitchell (You’ll recognize him from several things, including Cobra Kai), and the very recognizable villain, Anthony Carrigan (Barry, Gotham). Will Arnett does the voice of Sweet Tooth, the clown.
Just enjoy the easter eggs and plot setup. This isn’t Coppola or Scorsese here, but it’s fun and well-made.

NHL Trade Talk, News, & National Hockey Now
Boston Hockey Now: Oh those trade rumors. Pavel Zacha? Out the door. Casey Mittelstadt? Gone. Neidermeyer? Dead! Wait, scratch that last one. But the rumors have swirled all summer, and as Andrew Fantucchio writes, the rumors make absolutely no sense for the Boston Bruins.
