The Trenton Golden Hawks defeated the Wellington Dukes 6 to 3 on Saturday night at Leigh Arena.
Spencer Hughes, Kale Mace, Nate Taylor, Taeo Artichuk, and Jaxon Broda scored for the Golden Hawks, while Zachary Carrier, Beckham Brooks, and Maxime Morin scored for the Dukes.
The Golden Hawks opened play with a pair of first-period goals before the Dukes came back to get their first before the period ended. In the second, the Dukes took the lead after back-to-back goals, before the Golden Hawks came back with two more of their own to retake the lead. In the third frame, the Golden Hawks took two more goals, extending their lead and taking the win.
The two teams are set to clash again on Sunday, this time at the Dunc. The puck drops at 6:30.
