A trio of Vancouver Canucks prospect are among the National Hockey League’s best heading into the upcoming 2025-26 season, according to a ranking released on Monday.

On Monday, Steven Ellis of Daily Faceoff released his annual Top-75 NHL-affiliated prospects list and for the Vancouver Canucks, three of their players were included.

The first Vancouver Canucks prospect on Ellis’ list is defenseman Tom Willander, as he’s ranked 45th, a rise of 18 spots when compared to last season.

“After a strong sophomore season at Boston College, Willander is ready to prove himself against pro competition. He’s a two-way, strong-skating blueliner who makes a lot of skilled plays with the puck. I feel like his overall control of the disk is much more refined than when he started in the NCAA, and he has really figured out how to handle his gap control on smaller North American ice. Willander was one of the best defenders at the World Juniors, which helped showcase just how far his development has come. I expect Willander to play a significant role in Abbotsford and see some NHL playing time, as well.” Ellis said.

Swedish forward Jonathan Lekkerimaki is the second ranked Vancouver Canucks prospect on Ellis’ list, coming in at 46th, a pretty big drop after being put in the 28th spot ahead of the 2024-25 campaign.

There’s going to be a ton of eyes, and pressure, on these three prospects this season, with Lekkerimaki pushing for a spot on the Vancouver Canucks’ opening night roster, Tom Willander will be looking to learn the ropes of professional hockey in North America, while Cootes is hoping to have a strong start to his year in order to get an invite to Canada’s World Junior camp in December.
