Add the dailyfaceoff.com crew to the growing list of those believing Detroit prospect defenseman Axel Sandin Pellikka will be ready for the NHL this season. The website lists Sandin Pellikka as the eighth-best affiliated prospect defenseman (18th overall) on its list of Top 75 NHL Prospects.

Daily Faceoff’s Steven Ellis offers that Sandin Pellikka boasts a “solid” defensive game to go with his slick offensive potential.

“Sandin-Pellikka is physically better than we’ve seen from him in recent years and is much more engaged in clearing out the crease to keep traffic away…,” Ellis wrote. “I think ASP could step into the NHL this season if the Red Wings needed him to, but there’s no rush. He’s a future top-four defender, and a bit of time honing his skills on the smaller ice in the AHL wouldn’t hurt. It won’t be long until he’s plying his trade at Little Caesars Arena, though.”

The other Red Wings on the list include 2025 first rounder Carter Bear (43rd), plus 2024 first rounder Michael Brandsegg-Nygard (61st) and 2023 first rounder Nate Danielson (63rd)
