1. Bills aim for 6th straight AFC East title, Super Bowl run as Patriots, Jets and Dolphins regroup

Josh Allen and the Bills enter this season looking as good as ever and one of the betting favorites to win the Super Bowl, let alone a sixth consecutive AFC East title. They know they need to get over the hump of the playoffs — particularly Kansas City, which has eliminated Buffalo in four of the past five postseasons, including twice in the AFC championship game.

2. Buffalo Bills bring back safety Jordan Poyer

The Buffalo Bills are bringing back a familiar face as the team are signing safety Jordan Poyer. He weill join the practice squad. Poyer provides the Bills valuable experience and familiarity at a position facing question marks entering the season opener against Baltimore on Sept. 7.

3. 2025-26 flu season vaccines available now at all Wegmans pharmacies

The supermarket chain says those interested can stop by during normal business hours or schedule an appointment online. Flu vaccines will be available for children, adults and seniors.

4. Farmers’ developments of hybrid crops preserve consistent food supply amid changing weather patterns

For more than 100 years, farmers have been finding new ways to adapt to ever-changing weather patterns by developing new varieties of crops. Cornell University has created a handful of different breeding crops, including corn.

5. FDA approves updated COVID-19 shots but limits access for some kids and adults

U.S. regulators approved updated COVID-19 shots Wednesday but limited their use for many Americans — and removed one of the two vaccines available for young children.

6. Shooting at Minneapolis Catholic school kills 2 children, injures 17 people

A shooter opened fire with a rifle through the windows of a Catholic church in Minneapolis and struck children celebrating Mass during the first week of school, killing two and wounding 17 people in an act of violence the police chief called “absolutely incomprehensible.”
