It looks like things are getting serious for Montreal Canadiens forward Kirby Dach.We saw it last season with David Reinbacher, but when a player is coming back from a major knee injury, there’s a lot of management needed in terms of repetitions and workload.

Reinbacher, for example, couldn’t even be on the ice two days in a row.

Kirby Dach is back on the ice today!

Clearly, it really looks like he could actually start the season at his position, at 100%, and that would be huge for Martin St-Louis’ squad.

“Big morning of action at the Complex: Demidov, Veleno, Blais, Laine, Dach, Bolduc, Evans, Dobson, and Hughes’ two sons are already on the ice for practice. Thanks to our representative.”

Kent Hughes’ two sons were also there!

Jack Hughes is 21 years old, a 6-foot, 169-pound center, and was a second-round pick of the Los Angeles Kings in 2022 in Montreal (51st overall).

He played for Boston University in the NCAA over the last two seasons.

In 2023-24, he collected 19 points in 38 games, and in 2024-25, he tallied 25 points in 40 games.

Riley Hughes is 25 years old, a 6-foot-2, 194-pound winger, and was a seventh-round pick of the New York Rangers in 2018 (216th overall).

Last season, he played for the Carolina Hurricanes’ farm team, where he collected 8 points in 31 games.

In short, some nice surprises once again this morning in Brossard.

“Habs Kirby Dach is on the ice this morning in Brossard – a good sign after his second knee surgery in late February.”

I’ll repeat myself, but seeing him on the ice two days in a row is huge.
