A bold prediction was announced this week regarding the Vancouver Canucks’ chances on making it to the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the second time in the last three years.

The 2024-25 campaign was a disappointing one for the Vancouver Canucks and their fans as the club missed out on the postseason for the fourth time in the last five seasons, which led to some pretty big changes off the ice, with a whole new coaching staff ready to make their mark on the team.

Vancouver Canucks fans are hoping that these moves will pay off this season and that the team will be playoff bound in a little over seven months, with a bold prediction announced this week regarding their odds on getting back to the postseason.

In a social media post on Wednesday, JFresh used their model to predict the 2025-26 NHL regular season standings and who will end up making it to the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

JFresh’s model appears to like the Vancouver Canucks, putting them in fourth in the Pacific Division with 98 points, one back of the Los Angeles Kings for third place.

If this scenario were to happen, the Vancouver Canucks would take the first Wild Card spot in the Western Conference and would take on the division leader who has less points in the regular season and in this model, that would be the Vegas Golden Knights.

While JFresh’s model might favour the Vancouver Canucks, other outlets aren’t buying it, with PlayNow Sports giving Adam Foote’s squad a +100 odds of making it to the postseason.Only time will tell how the Vancouver Canucks will perform this coming season and their quest towards a spot in the Stanley Cup Playoffs will begin on September 18th when they open up training camp in Penticton, British Columbia.
