The Winnipeg Jets will host the Dallas Stars in a Central Division showdown from Canada Life Centre in the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Both the Stars and Jets were looking unlikely to be candidates for the second round as recently as Game 7 of the first round. Both teams erased two-goal deficits and earned wins to claim their places in the series that will ultimately see one team move on to the Western Conference Final.

Dallas is expected to get some reinforcements back into its lineup – in the form of Jason Robertson and Miro Heiskanen – while Winnipeg is hoping that Mark Scheifele will play Game 1 and hope to have Josh Morrissey healed in time to return at some point within the series.

Connor Hellebuyck will be looking for some redemption after posting an NHL record in terms of worst save percentage as the winning goaltender in a postseason series. And he will be doing so against fellow countryman Jake Oettinger.
