“Carter Hart is likely going to be offered a contract by multiple teams, I would say, in the two to three-year range. I was told you might see up to a dozen teams trying to get Carter Hart. But I wouldn’t say the Flyers are a frontrunners … he’s probably going to go where he’s going to get the best deal,” said SanFilippo.Insider links goalie Cater Hart to Edmonton Oilers
According to the Insider, the Edmonton Oilers are frontrunners to sign the 6’2″ goalie, after questions were raised of Stuart Skinner following a second-straight Stanley Cup Finals loss, and with Skinner’s contract expiring July 1, 2026.
Whether as a replacement for Stuart Skinner, or as his partner, signing Carter Hart makes good business sense. Hart has six-years of NHL experience as a starter in a passionate hockey market, and knows how to handle both the crease and the media.
At 27-years old, he still has time to strengthen his mechanics and develop even further, as goalies usually take longer to master their craft.
Cater was Philadelphia’s 48th-overall draft pick in 2016. Over his 6-year career, he has a record of 96-93-29, with a .906 GAA and 2.94 SV%.
Hart is currently a free agent and can sign with the team of his choosing, once he receives clearance from the NHL.
With mid-September quickly approaching, teams are getting ready to start training camp. It won’t be long before we begin to receive news from the Edmonton organization about who will be attending.
