Michigan State hockey got a couple of gems in Jake and Dean Chelios, sons of former NHL star and hockey Hall of Famer Chris Chelios. The duo played for the Spartans from 2009-2014.
Following his MSU career, Jake moved on to have a successful professional career. A career that spanned from 2014 to 2025, Chelios has called it quits on professional hockey.

Chelios played in five games for the Detroit Red Wings in 2018-19, but did the majority of his damage with the Kunlun Red Star, the Chinese team of the KHL. He also played in the 2022 Olympic Games for Team China, where he recorded 2 assists.
In his six year KHL career, the defenseman scored 16 goals and recorded 56 assists. His AHL career stats consisted of 17 goals and 91 assists.
