The Toronto Maple Leafs have been linked to controversial goalie Carter Hart, but the source is far from reliable, which brings the report’s validity into question.
Among those players is Carter Hart, formerly of the Philadelphia Flyers, who has yet to find a team. Reports suggest that a few organizations have shown interest in him.
“Edmonton, Toronto, and Pittsburgh are all keeping tabs, and if Hart officially gets reinstated, I believe he will be signing a two-way deal somewhere and not a PTO.”
Carter Hart’s Fit in Toronto a Questionable Suggestion
Alongside Hart, players such as Michael McLeod, Dillon Dube, Alex Formenton, and Cal Foote once had very promising NHL careers. However, none of them have generated meaningful interest from teams since the incident, and for good reason.
It seems extremely unlikely that a media-heavy market like Toronto would pursue any of these players, as the public relations backlash would be enormous.
While Carter Hart may not be a realistic option for the Maple Leafs, there could still be teams willing to take a chance on the 27-year-old goaltender. After all, his talent and on-ice performance have never been in doubt.
