FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) – The Last Frontier Sports and Entertainment Network is coming to Interior Alaska, presenting the NHL’s Seattle Kraken.
Hockey enthusiasts will soon have the opportunity to watch more than sixty Seattle Kraken games for free right from their living rooms on the new sports network on channel 7.1. Seattle’s season home opener against the Anaheim Ducks will air Thursday, October 9, according to a recent press release
“We are extremely excited and honored to serve the Greater Fairbanks area as the home of The Kraken,” said Chris Fry, general manager of Gray Media’s Fairbanks based stations KFXF, KTVF and KXDF.
“We are also thrilled to announce the migration of KFXF to a full sports network as part of The Last Frontier Sports and Entertainment Network, Gray Media’s newest broadcast sports network serving the entire state of Alaska,” added Fry. The broadcasts are part of a partnership between KFXF’s parent company Gray Media, Tegna and The Seattle Kraken.
Loyal MeTV viewers should know they will still be able to watch their favorite shows. On Monday, October 6, MeTV will be transitioning, without interruption, to channel 7.3 for MeTV programming.
KFXF, which has operated as MeTV/My Network station since November of 2017, will alter its line-up with programming from Gray’s sports programming, My Network and The Seattle Kraken.
Fairbanks based broadcast stations KFXF, KTVF and KXDF, owned and operated by Gray Media, serve local viewers with premier news, sports, and entertainment with translator service in both Delta Junction and Healy. As stewards of the Interior’s Golden Heart, the stations honorably serve the community year-round with support initiatives to include May No Child Go Hungry, Fill The Bus, Coats For Kids and the annual Holiday Toy Drive.
The anticipated launch of The Last Frontier Sports and Entertainment Network on KFXF is Monday, October 6, 2025.
