Tonight, the Minnesota Vikings start their 2025-2026 season. While the game is on the road in Chicago, fans of the purple and gold are optimistic the team will leave the Windy City with the dub. While preseason predictions of this year’s team seem to put them either in the playoffs as a wildcard or missing the playoffs altogether. That is, except for one NFL Network host who has picked the Vikings to right a wrong nearly 30 years in the making.

So You’re Saying There’s A Chance?

Jamie Erdahl of the NFL Network’s morning show, Good Morning Football, went on the air last week and gave an epic pick for this year’s Super Bowl. Erdahl, who is from Minnesota, brought back the painful moment from the 1998 season when two kickers with the same last name sent one fan base into a frenzy and the other into the frozen depths of winter, wondering what happened.

That is, of course, until this year, according to Erdahl. This is the year the Vikings will make the big game and take on the team they were destined to face if Gary Anderson had made that fateful kick, the Denver Broncos.

You can watch Jamie make her pick below, and to be honest, I got hyped up listening to her make the pick.

I know as a fan of the Vikings we sell hope every year will be our year, and to be honest, I hope that someday that elusive championship comes, but if it’s not this year, I’ll still be ok.
