The Forwards
Among the forwards, two of the Flyers’ three first-round picks from 2024 and 2025 will be in attendance. Jett Luchanko and Jack Nesbitt headline the group, with Luchanko being the only member of the ’24 draft class in the forward group. Matthew Gard and Nathan Quinn are other players from the Flyers’ ’25 draft class joining the forward group.
They will be joined by free agent signings Sawyer Boulton, Karsen Dorwart, and Jacob Gaucher. Three Phantoms join the roster: Samu Tuomaala, Nikita Grebenkin, and Alexis Gendron.
Devin Kaplan, who left BU at the end of the NCAA season and joined the Flyers, will also be attending rookie camp. The group will be headlined by Alex Bump and Denver Barkey.
The Defense for Flyers Rookie Camp
As for the defense, three of the eight blueliners come from the 2024 or 25 draft classes. Spencer Gill (’24 2nd round), who may have made the most significant strides since being drafted, headlines the group of all blueliners alongside Oliver Bonk (’23 first round). Austin Moline (’24, 7th Round) joins Gill as the only other player from the 2024 draft class, while Luke Vlooswyk (’25, 5th Round) is the lone representative from 2025 at the 2025 rookie camp blueline.
Three Phantoms will also be at camp. Hunter McDonald, Ethan Samson, and Ty Murchison will all be attending Flyers Rookie Camp as well. Rounding out the blueline group is Andre Mondoux on an ATO.
The Flyers do not have a defenseman smaller than 6’2″ on their camp list, and five of their defensemen are 6’4″ or taller.

Goaltenders
Lastly, the Flyers are bringing two goaltenders to rookie camp.
Of course, Carson Bjarnason headlines the two. Bjarnason is set to join the Phantoms this season, as he prepares to take over the net in the NHL someday. That journey starts at Flyers Rookie Camp. Bjarnason is very clearly the team’s best North American goaltending prospect. It will be fun to keep an eye on him.
Finally, the last player on the rookie camp roster is Joey Costanzo. Costanzo, coming from the Windsor Spitfires, will attend camp on an ATO. His OHL numbers are pretty solid: a 34-10-4 record in 51 games played, with a 2.94 GAA and a .892 SV%. Maybe the 20-year-old goaltender could earn himself a roster spot from camp.
The Schedule
Rookie Camp begins Thursday, September 11th, with a practice at the Flyers training center, starting at 11 a.m. Then, Friday the 12th and Saturday the 13th are the rookie series between the Flyers and Rangers, taking place at the PPL Center. Puck drop for Friday’s game is 7:00 p.m., while Saturday’s game begins at 5:00 p.m.
The rookies will have an off day on Sunday, the 14th, followed by practices on Monday, the 15th, and Tuesday, the 16th, both at 11:00 a.m. at the Flyers Training Center.
