WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (KUTV) — The Utah Grizzlies may have found a new home in New Jersey.
While nothing has been formally confirmed, Frank Seravelli, a National Hockey League insider, reported the Grizzlies will relocate to Trenton, New Jersey.
After 30 years of playing at the Maverik Center, the Grizzlies would play at CURE Insurance Arena, according to Seravelli, the former home ECHL franchise Trenton Titans.
The Utah Grizzlies started the process to be sold earlier this year in June. The club explained the decision to sell was made after the death of former owner Dave Elmore in 2023 and the declining health of co-owner Donna Tuttle.
The Elmore Sports Group described the decision as an emotional and difficult moment for the organization. In a statement, the group said, “Utah has been more than a home – it has been part of our identity. But ensuring the Grizzlies have the opportunity to thrive in the future may require new ownership and, potentially, a new home.”
Seravelli said fans can expect a formal announcement on Sept. 9.

It’s unclear if the Grizzlies would take on the name of the Trenton Titans, who ceased operations after the 2013/2014 season. Seravelli said a naming content would be held to help the Grizzlies find its identity in Trenton.
The Utah Grizzlies will play one last season at the Maverik Center. The 2025/2026 season is scheduled to begin on Oct. 17 when the Grizzlies head to Greenville, South Carolina to take on the Swamp Rabbits.
The Grizzlies home opener is scheduled for Oct. 25 against Idaho. The final game at the Maverik Center is scheduled to take place against Rapid City on April 11, 2026.
