Explore the Chicago Blackhawks Tom Kurvers Prospect Showcase roster, featuring top prospects like Rinzel and Levshunov.

The Chicago Blackhawks released their roster for the Tom Kurvers Prospect Showcase on Monday morning. The Blackhawks are set to play the St. Louis Blues this Saturday at 6 pm CT and the Minnesota Wild on Sunday at 3 pm CT.

Notable names include: Sam Rinzel, Atryom Levshunov, Nick Lardis, Oliver Moore, and Marek Vanacker. Rinzel and Levshunov are the two top defensemen in the Blackhawks’ prospect pipeline. Oliver Moore is a 2023 first-round draft pick who intrigued fans last season with his speed during a nine-game debut in the NHL. Nick Lardis scored impressive numbers in the OHL last season (117 points in 65 games). Marek Vanacker is an intriguing first-round pick from the 2024 draft.

But Lardis is my prospect to watch throughout the showcase, and more importantly, during the follow-on training camp with the NHL roster. The big question surrounding Lardis is whether his scoring is translatable to the NHL. Some experts criticized his game for perimeter scoring, although Lardis has made improvements in scoring from the middle of the ice.

Other names to watch are AJ Spellacy — last year’s training camp fan favorite — and Martin Misiak. Spellacy, like recent draft pick Mason West, formerly played football and is an athletic prospect. Misiak was a teammate of Nick Lardis and scored 59 points in 60 games.
