That will be the first of five training camp practices open to the public at the West Davidson County facility, as the team will also skate at the center Sept. 19, Sept. 20, Sept. 24 and Sept. 26.

Here’s the complete training camp schedule through Sept. 28, including times for each of the open practices.

The Preds will play four home preseason games at Bridgestone Arena: Nashville will host the defending Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers for a Sept. 21 doubleheader at 2 and 6 p.m.; the Tampa Bay Lightning on Sept. 23 at 7 p.m.; and the Carolina Hurricanes on Oct. 4 at 3 p.m.

In addition, the Preds will continue the tradition of playing a Gold Star Showcase intrasquad scrimmage at F&M Bank Arena in Clarksville on Sept. 5 at 6:30 p.m. That contest will benefit the Special Operations Warrior Foundation.

Fifty-five players will attend training camp, as the Predators seek to rebound from last season’s woeful 30-44-8 finish, a 68-point total that was seventh best of eight teams in the Central Division and 29th best of 32 NHL squads.

Among Nashville’s big-name players returning this season are forwards Steven Stamkos, Filip Forsberg, Ryan O’Reilly and Jonathan Marchessault, as well as defensemen Roman Josi and Brady Skjei, and goalie Juuse Saros.

Most of those headed to camp (44 of the 55) are under contract to Nashville, while seven are on American Hockey League contracts with the Milwaukee Admirals and four more are participating on tryout agreements or as unsigned draft picks.

The Preds will form a roster of at least 20 — and at most 23 — players heading into the team’s regular season opener, when Nashville will host the Columbus Blue Jackets on Oct. 9.

Here’s the complete roster.
