We’re lucky here in the Hudson Valley to have prime access to the United States Military Academy and all the beauty that comes along with West Point. From stunning views, to incredible venues like Thayer Hall, and the athletic facilities, especially Michie Stadium, West Point offers a lot to the area.

A recent announcement has Army football fans (in particular) pretty excited for the 2025-26 season, as for the first time ever, alcoholic beverages are now available for purchase at Army West Point football games.
Alcohol Now Available For Purchase at Army West Point Football Games
Effective August 29th, at the Army vs. Tarelton State football game at Michie Stadium, something new and exciting was introduced – alcohol sales at the stadium. In an official announcement from Army West Point Director of Athletics, Tom Theodorakis:
The opportunity to purchase alcohol has become common practice at college athletic venues across the country, and we’re pleased to introduce it here at West Point as part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing the gameday experience. Prioritizing the fan experience is a core pillar of our Fruits of Victory strategic plan, and this initiative is one of several designed to improve the atmosphere and overall enjoyment for those who support the Black Knights at Michie Stadium. At the same time, we remain fully committed to ensuring a safe, family-friendly environment for all fans.

As they consistently do, Newburgh Brewing Company has once again crafted something exclusive to a major part of the Hudson Valley community, this time brewing an ale for Army Football.
River Stronghold Golden Ale, made exclusive for Michie Stadium and other concessions at Army Athletic facilities, is now available both outside the stadium, and now inside as well. With the recent announcement of alcohol being permitted inside, thanks to a new partnership with Levy Restaurants (which is also the concession partner for LegoLand), alcohol, including Newburgh’s River Stronghold Golden Ale, can now be found inside Michie.
According to Paul Halayko of Newburgh Brewing Company:
As long time Hudson valley residents, getting the opportunity to make a beer for an American Institution like West Point is a honest to goodness dream come true. We can’t thank West Point, Levy Restaurants, and Dana Distributors enough for trusting us with a project like this and helping our vision become a reality.
Major props to Graphic Designer Kateri Ruebenstahl, the incredible talent behind all of Newburgh Brewing Company’s designs, as pictured in the photo below with the new River Stronghold Golden Ale.
