COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — The Columbus Blue Jackets will take part in the Prospects Challenge from Sept. 11-15 in Buffalo, New York.

The tournament will feature young players from the Blue Jackets, Boston Bruins, Buffalo Sabres, New Jersey Devils and Pittsburgh Penguins.

Columbus’ rookie camp roster includes 23 players, including 2024 second-round picks defenseman Charlie Elick (34th overall) and goaltender Evan Gardner (60th overall).

Other notable prospects are 2025 draft pick Owen Griffin, Luca Pinelli, Oiva Keskinen, Tyler Peddle, Jordan Dumais and Guillaume Richard. The roster also features recent signees Caleb MacDonald, Jack Williams, Max McCue and Nolan Lalonde.

The Blue Jackets, coached in Buffalo by Cleveland Monsters head coach Trent Vogelhuber, will open play Sept. 11 against New Jersey at KeyBank Rink.

The team’s regular season begins Oct. 9 in Nashville.
