The Vancouver Canucks’ home rink, Rogers Arena, appears to be nearly through its summer facelift – with the team working to replace the 30 year old maroon seats around the arena during this offseason.

Vancouver Canucks make progress on seat renovation

While photos from inside Rogers Arena in July made it look like the goal of replacing every seat might be out of reach, recent photos shared by Taylor and a a reddit user who took an arena tour show that only a small amount of the arena left with maroon seats.

The changes have not yet been officially confirmed by the Vancouver Canucks organization, but photos shared in recent days point towards the work being done in time for the team’s first preseason home game.

Canucks fans planning to attend games should be excited to learn that the seat upgrades will come with cupholders, a long overdue upgrade.

A light schedule this summer has allowed most of the work to be completed, and while the Canucks don’t have a home preseason game until September 26, a slew of concerts are scheduled throughout September at Rogers Arena, and so the clock is ticking on remaining changes in order to have a uniform look in the arena in time for the first puck drop.
