Following the article published by the renowned Pierre LeBrun, and following his interviews with Sidney Crosby as well as his agent Pat Brisson, the discussion has started up again.
Here is what the Montreal Canadiens would have to give the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for Sidney Crosby, according to McGuire
He indeed made a very interesting statement.
“On this subject, Pierre McGuire, who was on the Sick Podcast yesterday, stated that in his opinion, it would take ‘more than Michael Hage, David Reinbacher, and a first-round pick’ to convince the Penguins to let go of their legendary player.”

Wow! So, it would take a third player (in addition to Hage, Reinbacher, and a 1st-round pick) in order to bring Sidney Crosby to the Montreal Canadiens, at least according to Pierre McGuire.
Personally, I don’t really agree with McGuire.
It’s true that Crosby has immense value, but it’s important to consider that number 87 will choose his next destination himself, if there even is a next destination in his case.
If Crosby decides that he wants to finish his career with the Montreal Canadiens, then the general manager of the Penguins would be obliged to trade him to the Tricolore.
Kent Hughes would therefore hold the upper hand in these circumstances, and I highly doubt it would truly cost such a fortune.

Would you trade David Reinbacher + Michael Hage + a 1st-round pick for Sidney Crosby?
